Sadie’s daily schedule at 9 weeks

Boris “Sadie” Badenov is my very active and adorable Australian Cattledog pup. She’s a tiny bundle of terrible energy and I adore her. Making sure she is well-trained and socialized is my current project. We’re starting out with a “nothing in life is free” approach to feeding, where she must earn, by sitting politely, every kibble she eats. So far so good. One other thing that I have learned is that these dogs must have a schedule to thrive. So after a week of sorting things out this is Sadie’s schedule:
Sadie schedule
- Around 3, walk and training
- 5-7 in crate while I prep dinner
- 7-9 in coral or tethered while we talk and watch tv
5 AM – 7 AM | get up, potty outside, inside for 30 minutes of training off and on with 2 hours in the pen |
7 AM – 9 AM | in crate while I dress, do housework etc |
9 AM – 9:30 AM | Visit chickens, walk around outside |
9:30 AM – 12:00PM | Either tethered to me while I work or in a corral while I work |
12:00 PM – 12:30 PM | Walk outside and more training |
12:30 PM – 3:00 PM | Either tethered to me while I work or in a corral while I work |
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM | Walk outside and more training |
3:30 PM – 5:00 PM | Either tethered to me while I work or in a corral while I work |
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM | in crate while I prep dinner and eat |
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Either tethered to me or in the corral while we talk and watch tv |
And that is pretty much it. She is very well crate trained at this point and is also Potty Outside trained. She sits politely to ask for a treat and also goes to the door to her potty area when she needs to potty outside. We are working on more appropriate puppy biting and not jumping.
Go Sadie!
